i recently, today, had a concersation with a male about old school dating. is chilvery dead? can a female really not get picked for a date, get her movie ticket, juju bees and drink paid for, get dropped back off at home, and end the date with a hug and 'thank you' anymore? must everything be about "goin dutch" now? i think chilvery has died off a lil. but depending on who you are, it can be very much alive. or do males not see that? does everything have to end in sex as a payback?

I am sad to say that I DO think that chiverly is super dead.  it died with this generation.  It got shot in the head and went to the emergency and never fully recovered.  it was on life support for awhile, but then since no family members came to visit, it just pulled the plug.

Ohh Qween it is dead.  There is good news.  Before it died it had a son.  So, the son is alive and kicking it.  the only way the son will not die, if this generation teaches it the ways of the father...ohh this is deep.  So, go find him...teach him...tell him to teach others after he ahs learned...and maybe not this generation, but future generations will soon enjoy the the warmth of chivirly's son.

Chivalry is NOT dead. It lives quite well in an older generation. When my buddy Ken and I went out to dinner after church  we always picked up the tab for the girls who went with us. They weren't really dates. We just saw them at church and invited them to go along and felt that it was the right thing to pick up the tab. Sometimes they were nice and offred to take care of there own but we usually declined. It was our way of saying thanks for the company.

sex is never the appropriate "payback" for an evening out. That bull**** would cease if the ladies said no. But there are ladies out there who want to hook up so they are willing to give it up. NOt to be unkind but if you look at it logically it is prostitution. The guy is paying aoubt $25 for the right to use the girl. (that is the cost of her movie admission and popcorn and the McDonalds hamburger she got on the way home. MAn the hooker on the corner gets paid better than that!

I know that sounds harsh but I think it is time to just spit it out and call it what it is. I am not talking aobut someone who thinks they are in love but the guy/girl who thinks that a quick bit of action even if it does feel good, is the payoff for spending the money. Man "that ain't nuthin' but plain old hookin'"

Well when the ladies start saying "No, I  would rather keep my honor( a part pf the code of chivalry on the ladies side by the way) and stay home before I whore myslef, well then the guys will start treating them differently. I mean that is the way it worked back in the day.

Got to go before people start shooting at me!!

OBTW chivalry still lves at my house. Mrs Moore wouldn't let me stay if it didn't!!

I thank you for that CB!! I can do the flowery stuff that really says nothing but why? Plain speech is a lost talent in this country. We are too concerned about being Politically correct and not offending people. When I read the words of Jesu , well, He could be pretty offensive! But thank you for the kind words.

I hate to say it but, chilvary is dead and it has been the women who killed it. And by that I mean this: this new generation had to have been brought into this world by another generation, right? and it was up to the mothers to teach the sons that a woman should be respected and teach them how a woman should be treated at all times. Since they didn't...... they came up on what they see...... And now those same boys became men and they go on dates and they go out with these girls and they don't pick them up and sometimes don't pay and don't do as much as pull out a chair or open a door, and the woman allow that to go on. If it is not taken care of early in the date, it will continue to go on.

Girl I'm glad that you have found what makes you happy. There is no love like black love. I wish more people had the I have faith in you and your relationship. It's a shame that people (even men for that matter) don't have the common sense that GOD gave em' to know that if you respect a woman, the woman will respect you.
